Isn't about being or not being profitable, if this were the case, kaoskatsu would just have quit free sharing to switch to pure paywall. Same for current paywallers switiching to free sharing due not being profitable. Is kind of nonsense within itself.
Goes beyond money, and will all dramas kaoskatsu had, to this day has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more respect, love and support than peter.
Some creators are just better than others, not on the style itself of the cards, but the actual creator. Hentaisio even made an account here, "hey all my private cards are now free enjoy", like W T F.
Go check peter on koikatsu discord server, is that a normal real interaction between community and creator? or is it just again, a pile of trash copypaste over and over, no personality, no human touch, nothing, just give me money, and now guess what

We currently are experiencing somewhat change on how scene/card creators design their new content policy.
They don't wait a bit to hide it, is basically mouth-to-mouth knowledge leaning towards kind of conspiracy stuff, all those people are in a small, closed servers, where these things are discussed. Their own revenue, their exposure as a creator, going agains't that, based on "principles and leakers," one by one, in a cascading effect, and all of that being something organic and natural without prior discussion, is sus asf to say the least.

And the only peace you'll find is when you stop engaging with what hurts you. It's not creating cards; it's your need to see what others do with them. It's not seeing your follower count drop; it's seeing "your" only community turn their backs on you and laugh at you for being emotionally weak. And that's exactly what I was getting at, you're one step ahead, buddy.
Leaving aside the money issue, which, although not the real reason, does influence several decisions made by these artists who, even with a standard paywall, seek to restrict their content due to perceived leakers; firstly, don't you need to be an active contributor to be a leaker? Even if something is leaked, it's more likely that the action isn't from one or two contributors, but from a considerable percentage of their community, and again, with these kinds of penalties you only fuel the resentment they have towards you and motivate more users to leak just to spite you.
I don't really know much about Peter, only from the requests made here and his complaints on the Bepis server to have any uploads of his material taken down, and that says quite a lot.
