Sorry if this is a stupid question. Many casual players like me are only familiar with creating characters in the base game, then entering Studio, using existing scene data, and swapping character cards. We hardly use most of Studio's features (mainly because we don't know how to use them).
At the same time, many of the interesting item mods created by the community seem to work only in Studio and cannot be used in the base game itself. Is there any guide on how to make those mods usable in the base game, or how to convert/adapt them so they can be used outside of Studio?
Koikatsu Mod: - You need to specify the accessory section where you want it to appear.
- You need to specify the bone you want it to attach to.
- Before creating the Prefab you need to create a general bone "N_move", otherwise you won't be able to move it with the gizmo in charamaker.
- You need to edit a thumbnail (in Photoshop, GIMP, or Krita) for each accessory if you make more than one for the mod.
- Create an Asset Bundle for both the Prefab (Mesh, armature, scripts) and the Thumbnail.
- List everything in a tedious CSV file.
Charastudio Mod: - You don't need to specify anything.
- Organize the CSV file.
- One Asset Bundle.
- The Thumbnail process is optional.
- Nothing.
The mod I recently made for male genitalia will be packaged for Koikatsu, although it won't have any interaction with BetterPenetration. I'm doing it simply because I think some people might want to add it to their characters. Otherwise, the current mod would become obsolete.
Mods created for Koikatsu are automatically integrated into Charastudio, but not vice versa.
